Francis Kofi Kpolu, born in August 1977 in Mepe, Volta Region, Republic of Ghana, is a distinguished Ghanaian business executive, entrepreneur, investor, philanthropist, and Minister of the Gospel. He is the visionary founder and Chief Executive Officer of Time Concepts Ghana Limited, a company he has successfully led for over thirteen years, holding 100% ownership. He also serves as the Country Director of AMERI Energy.
Francis’s academic journey reflects his commitment to continuous professional development. He earned an Executive MBA (2015–2017) and an Advanced Diploma in Management (2011) from the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). He completed the Executive Education Programme at Harvard Business School in 2016 and obtained a Professional Certificate in Project Management from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2009. His earlier qualifications include a Standard Diploma in Salesmanship from the Managing Marketing Sales Association UK, a Diploma in Business Management & Administration from the Institute of Commercial Management UK, and a Diploma Certificate from the Top Accountancy School in Accra, Ghana.
In 2015, during a period of severe national power shortages, Francis played a key role in Ghana’s $510 million agreement with Africa Middle East Resources Investment Group LLC (AMERI Group) for a 250MW power plant under a Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (BOOT) arrangement. His leadership extended to 2018 when he led high-level negotiations in Dubai between the Government of Ghana—represented by the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, and the Volta River Authority—and AMERI Group, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum of the Dubai ruling family.
On January 20, 2022, Francis successfully managed the formal handover of the power plant to the Government of Ghana, ensuring a seamless transition. Over the years, he has been instrumental in strategic engagements with major sector players, including the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), the Volta River Authority (VRA), and various government ministries, earning him deep respect within the energy sector for his exceptional achievements.
Beyond his executive roles, Francis serves on the Board of Directors of Jins Savings and Loans, having been approved by the Bank of Ghana in 2018, and is also a Board Member of AMERI Energy Group in the UAE.
His accomplishments have been recognized with multiple awards, including Emerging Energy Company of the Year – Power at the Ghana Energy Awards (2018), the Professor Pedro Nueno Distinguished Service Award from CEIBS (2017), and Alumnus of the Year 2014/2015 from CEIBS (2015).
